: Following on from the huge success of Volume 1, released in 2015, this is the second set of four classic albums of deep fried proto electro punk from London�s industrial goth figureheads, Alien Sex Fiend. Includes the Here Cum Germs, Another Planet, Curse and Open Head Surgery albums, from the period 1987 to 1992. Isolation, Now I'm Feeling Zombiefied, Ain't Got Time To Bleed and Class Of '69 are a few of the notable tracks. Selected in conjunction with Nik and Mrs Fiend, the tracklist also contains single highlights, B-sides, rarities and remixes, such as Hurricane Fighter Plane, They All Call Me Crazee, Haunted House and Comatose (The Ultra Mix). The four albums are packaged in mini LP sleeve replicas plus a booklet, all within a Clamshell Box. designed as a companion to the 1st Volume Box Set. Way ahead of their time, ASF�s fusion of electronic rhythms, synthesisers, samples and rewired, carefree insanity warrants rediscovery. This set covers a period which saw the band branch out into further American success, undertaking several riotous tours there, in the UK and across Europe. | Sky TV (in the UK) has been running a massive 40 part series on SKY ARTS called TRAILBLAZERS highlighting different music scenes and the artists and bands who kick started or were major movers in the various genres. So far the series has covered Glam Rock, Two Tone, Funk, Punk, Prog Rock, Heavy Metal, Electronic Music and so on. In Episode 12, first aired on July 15th, it was the turn of Gothic Rock, featuring yer very own Alien Sex Fiend! Nik Fiend said "The best thing was that Noddy Holder (of Slade) does the voiceovers for the series and I knew of Slade's music since I was a kid, so having him talk about Alien Sex Fiend felt a bit like being knighted!" The series as a whole is very well put together and informative and worth checking out, hopefully it should be repeated at some point in the future. |

| Mrs Fiend writes : We were very sad to hear about the passing
of Alan Vega on July 16th, we had no idea he was 78, he certainly didn't
look or act it! Our world would certainly have been missing an important
imgredient without his music, both solo and as part of the band Suicide.
He also created sculptures as well as music. Nik and I had met him and
Marty Rev, his other half in Suicide, a number of times over the years
after shows, the most recent was in 1998 at The Garage (London) which was
an amazing night.
Our very first meeting though was just as Alien Sex Fiend was starting up - so that is going back!!! A friend of ours, Derek, was writing for the fanzine "The Next Big Thing". Being big Suicide fans we all went together to see Alan's show at The Venue (London), around the release of his solo album "Collision Drive". We met up to do an interview and he drew us a picture of his cat Frankie Ray Teardrop labelling it "Pour mes amis" ("for my friends" in French) which we still have and a copy of it was used in the fanzine along with the interview (see pic on right). Even earlier, I saw one of Suicide's famous support slots on tour with The Clash in '78 in Cardiff - the audience got really wound up by Suicide's music - all they wanted was punk, punk, punk - and that wasn't helped AT ALL by Alan sporting a pinky-purple lurex jacket and bow tie (!), such was his ever confrontational attitude!! The world has lost another non-conformist and a true artist and is the poorer for it... We send our condolences to his wife Liz, their son Dante, and Marty Rev. |

Wot izzzzz going on wiv Alien Sex Fiend???????? Sorry we've been seemingly out of circulation for a while but it's been one of those "transitional" periods that we seem to have from time to time!.... there's been all sorts going on though and some of it you can see below... we're always doing "something" connected with ASF - (Gave your life to it - "Get Into It") - whether it's creating music or art or things that fall into the general category of "admin", and there's now 34 years of "Alien Sex Fiend" (eek!) to look after - like advising on last year's 4 CD Box Set, and there's a follow-up new Box Set (Volume 2) coming along in June which needed even more input from us! Yes there's been shit to deal with but - to put it into perspective - so many have passed on in recent times (see R.I.P. below) whereas we are still here. We also moved offices and had a good ol' clear out... in the process we've uncovered some goodies - like some last copies of the Death Trip Vinyl LP which have now been passed onto Blue Crumb Truck. Talking of which, Blue Crumb Truck has all changed too - except for Liz who is still at the helm - there's now a brand new store system. It was a mammoth task to move the store, Liz needed assistance to meet the imposed deadline, so we helped out with the look, sourcing images, making various suggestions (ooh er!)
Number Two - Ta daaa ! (trumpet blast)... we are working on new material!! Yes! We're working on some new songs with Doc Milton and Mat "Pod" Rowlands... we got back together with both of them in 2012 for the live shows and they've been with us ever since, we had great times and lots o fun on t'road so we set up an initial recording session to see what could happen, and IT did, and so IT will continue... Album???.....EP???? ......erm????? We don't know yet, we can't rush the process, we've gotta get away from outside stimuli and allow IT to unfold in IT's own way... so IT even surprises us, that's part of IT. There's nothin' worse than predictable / formulaic music / "music by committee" - Noooooo! |

IGGY
AND HIS FIENDS |
| Nik and Mrs Fiend write : We've been trying
to get our hands on copies of these photos ever since they were taken backstage
after Iggy Pop's show in 1986!! At
last we've got one of 'em - yaaay! 30 years later!! Not quite to the day
- but near enough... Our mate, Kevin Armstrong
(producer of Acid Bath
album, also played on and produced some of the Another
Planet album) was playing guitar in Iggy's band at the time.
(You may have seen Kev on Top Of The Pops (UK pop TV show) with Ig
sporting an Alien Sex Fiend logo T-shirt!)
He brought Iggy along to the studio in Shepherd's Bush, London where we
were recording the "It" album....
Ig was bouncing about while we heard the playback of "Buggin'
Me" - he loved my keyboard sound (thanks, Ig! Mrs F)
and he also visited our flat in Brixton.... later we went to his Academy
gig and met up backstage and that's when this photo (and a load of others)
was snapped....
We've been into Iggy, with and without The Stooges from around 1976... so we were chuffed to bits to meet up with him. Check out his BBC Radio 6 show - cos he plays some good weird shit and he's a great character- and as he would say "heh heh heh".... |

YOUTH
- MUSIC PRODUCERS AWARD |

Nik and Mrs Fiend write : We were really pleased
to hear that our ol' mate Youth (of Killing Joke) was awarded with the
"Outstanding Contribution Award"
by the Music Producers Guild in the
UK recently. It's high time that Youth got such recognition after 33 years
of endeavours! His first ever production job was in 1983 on the very 1st
Alien Sex Fiend single "Ignore The Machine" - yep we gave him
his start! - followed by the album "Who's Been Sleeping In My Brain?",
later the singles "Hurricane Fighter Plane", "Haunted House"
and "Inferno". Although you won't read about this in most of
the media - cos when the press are listing achievements, names such as
David Gilmour (Youth produced Pink Floyd's "Endless River" album)
and Paul McCartney (Beatles) tend to take precedence - ho ho ho! But we
know that Youth himsef has acknowledged us many times - cheers and our
congratulations!

| The BBC were running a music quiz "How Goth Are
You?" to coincide with the Whitby
Goth Weekend and it included a question about our own Nik Fiend! Although
it was last month the quiz is still there, so have a go, it's just for
fun!
The page says :
Scroll down and click on the "Play" bar. By the way, you will be pleased to know that Nik and Mrs Fiend managed a combined score of 9 out of 10, so they are classed by the quiz as "very goth indeed" and it suggests that they should go along to the Whitby Goth Weekend. That's a relief because they have headlined at the WGW twice!! The last time was in 2012 when you may remember that Nik and Mrs Fiend were presented with a very special 30th Anniversary cake especially created for the occasion by Choccywoccydoodah.

Nik and Mrs Fiend write : A number of famous faces and some
lesser known ones have passed away recently and we'd like to take this
opportunity to pay our respects to several of them. Some have had a lot
written about them in the media already and photos abound, so instead we
will concentrate here on our personal links....
You may not know that David Bowie was an ASF fan, he also mentioned us in interviews and chatted to Nik on the phone, one time his voice was recorded on our old telephone answering machine... we kept it and included it on our cover version of his song "All The Madman" (for Cleopatra Records "Goth Oddity" CD)... Prince's "Sign O' The Times" and "The Black Album" (yep, we had THAT bootleg tape!) especially the track "Bob George" were particular faves, we also played at the famous venue 1st Avenue in Minneapolis on a US tour.... Howard Marks too , what can you say? - Mrs F being a Welsh girl.... And Lemmy of Motorhead, what a character - we shared some good times such as when he visited us backstage after one of our shows at the Hammersmith Palais (London) and helped finish off the beers.... !!! Nick Marsh aka Nick Flesh, singer and guitarist with Flesh For Lulu, sadly passed away last year...we first met back in ye olde days of The Batcave club in London o'course, but we encountered Nick - usually along with Rocco (guitarist from the band) - many times over the years at various other watering-holes... our thoughts go out to his wife Kat and children.... James Kyllo - ex Creation Records, ex PopTones, and most recently of digital label Zebralution, unexpectedly passed last November. He looked after us in his role as General Manager at Cherry Red Records/Anagram during the latter 1980s, covering the "Here Cum Germs" album , the Dynamic Duo "Batman" single, through to the "Another Planet" album . In later years we would meet up with him from time to time for a chin-wag, he was a lovely fella.and a stauch supporter of the Brentford Football Team... Lastly, a mention to Dale "Buffin" Griffin, founder member and drummer of Mott The Hoople, who passed away this January. Post-Hoople he went into production and was the producer of our second BBC Radio 1 John Peel session, which included the song "Boneshaker Baby" ( B-side of our 11" E.S.T. single). At long last, that session, along with the 1st Peel session, was released as bonus tracks on the first 4 CD Box Set... We would like to pass our belated condolences onto all of their families, friends and colleagues..... |

The riveting lysergic "Acid Bath" is Alien Sex Fiend's second studio album. Originally released in 1984, it showed the band moving further into strange and spine tingling song structures. A firm fan favourite, this classic ASF album has been re-issued with the addition of 3 bonus tracks to create an 11 track limited edition deluxe double vinyl edition. Features the Indie Top 10 singles "E.S.T. (Trip To The Moon)" and "Dead And Buried", which are different versions to the Single tracks that were released earlier in '84, as is the version of "Attack".
