Alien Sex Fiend - Smells Like...12" Single Info:
Produced by Alien Sex Fiend. This 12" has the infamous banned cover with the "plastic turd on a piano" photo. Yes some people thought it was a REAL poo! Consequently it was banned from sale by W.H.Smith in the UK (at that time a large record retailer). The version of "Smells Like..." is different from the 7" one and was issued to herald the release of "It - The Album". Now deleted. This single was re-issued in 1990 as part of the Alien Sex Fiend Box Set in brown (eek!) coloured vinyl, the Box Set is also now deleted.

Trainspotter corner : During the sessions a certain Mr. Iggy Pop, who was on tour in the UK at the time, visited Alien Sex Fiend in the recording studio of which he said "This takes me back!" with it being an 8 track (i.e. a basic studio - think "punk"!) . He was given a preview of a few tracks and thoroughly enjoyed himself, bouncing about on the sofa to 'Buggin' Me' which he particularly loved. Nik Fiend said "It was a blast to have Iggy there, we really rated him, his album "Raw Power", amongst others, was a big influence."
