Alien Sex Fiend - The First Alien Sex Fiend
CD Album Info :
Originally released in 1986, the 14 track album "The
First Alien Sex Fiend CD" - as the title
suggests - was the first time the weird and wacky world of Alien Sex Fiend
was available on CD. This is the CD version of the "Maximum
Security" vinyl LP, Alien Sex Fiend's third studio
album and the first as a 3 piece after the departure of drummer Johnnie
Ha Ha. A self-produced album, it was more experimental with an increased
use of keyboards, effects, and a new heavy beat box and it truly established
Alien Sex Fiend's position in the outer limits and provided them with the
launch pad for all that they would subsequently achieve. "The
First Alien Sex Fiend CD" includes the Indie
top 10 single "I'm Doing Time In A Maximum Security Twilight
Home" (Number 2) which is surely a contender for the longest single
title in history! The 4 bonus tracks added to create the CD version include
the Indie Chart hit "E.S.T. (Trip To The Moon)" and the ultra-rare
Electrode Mix of the classic "Ignore The Machine".
February 2015 : The latest re-issue features The First Alien Sex Fiend CD, aka the Maximum Security album, as one CD of a 4 CD Box Set entitled Classic Albums and BBC Sessions Collection with additional bonus tracks, including the infamous John Peel BBC sessions. The CD has been packaged in a mini-replica of the original Maximum Security LP sleeve.
Trainspotter corner : After an all night recording session for the Maximum Security album in West London, Nik Fiend was nearly arrested by 2 policemen whilst he was making his way across the road to the local cafe for some much needed grub. Marching him off on the basis that he "looked strange" they proceeded to search and question him thoroughly until Mrs Fiend intervened.
